Ernst & Young Invests for the Future with New Office Move

Glasgow, 16 June 2010: Global professional services firm Ernst & Young will be moving to a state of the art office development –G1 – in Glasgow

Ernst & Young has signed a 15 year lease for over 20,000 sq ft of office space in HF Development’s (HFD) flagship development in George Square. The firm will move in May next year.

Underlining its continued investment in the Scottish market place, Ernst & Young hopes its relocation from its current premises on 50 George Square will provide a powerful springboard for future growth.

Commenting, Hywel Ball, Ernst & Young’s managing partner in Scotland said: “Scotland is critical to the firm’s growth plans in the UK and our investment in new office premises in Glasgow sends out a strong message about our ambitions and commitment to the marketplace.”

Douglas Nisbet, Ernst & Young’s senior partner in Glasgow added: “The G1 building will provide a prestigious location, at the heart of Glasgow’s business community, from which to serve our clients; whilst the open plan office space and Victorian architecture will provide an inspiring and enjoyable setting for our people to work in.”

1.        G1 Glasgow is a £70m re-development, involving the demolition of all but the external, Grade A listed walls, with a new building constructed behind the façade.
